How to Find Your First Racing Sponsor

Sponsors don't buy stickers. Here's how to think like a marketing manager and get your first yes.

Most drivers approach sponsorship as asking for money. The ones who succeed approach it as selling marketing.

What sponsors actually buy

Reach, association, hospitality and stories. Your proposal should clearly offer all four.

Start local

Your first sponsor is rarely a global brand. It's usually a local business, a family connection, or a supplier who already sells to your audience.

The process

  1. Build an audience (even 2,000 engaged local followers is valuable)
  2. Create a short, professional proposal
  3. List 50 target companies in a sponsor CRM
  4. Reach out personally and follow up
  5. Deliver more than you promised and report monthly

Use the sponsor calculator to estimate a fair package value, and remember it's an estimate, not a guarantee.
