"How much does karting cost?" is the most common question new drivers ask, and the honest answer is "anywhere between €800 and €40,000 per season". Here's where the money goes.
Rental karting leagues
Typically €50–€80 per race, nothing to buy except a helmet. An eight-round league plus some practice: roughly €1,000–€1,500.
Club karting with your own kart
- Used chassis + engine: €3,000–€6,000
- Tyres: roughly one set per race weekend
- Engine rebuilds, chains, sprockets, brake pads
- Testing: often the biggest line item
Realistic season: €6,000–€15,000.
National championships
Bigger entry fees, more tyres, more testing, more travel, often a team. €15,000–€40,000+.
